We facilitated a Sound Bath for Core Power Yoga Students on Sunday May 22nd. It was by far the largest Sound Bath I have been part of. There were 40 beautiful souls present who were curious and eager to be bathed in sound. For many, it was their first Sound Bath. We had many questions about what to expect leading up to the event. Everything thing from if would they get wet to if movement or heat was involved.
We are really learning that most people really do not understand what exactly a Sound Bath is and that causes them to hesitate in participating. We have our work cut out for us in spreading awareness of this beautiful experience we are offering.
The Sound Bath was beautiful but different for me as a facilitator. With such a large increase in participation you really must limit the amount of time you play each instrument over a guest. Moving faster throughout the room added a little more pressure physically and mentally. I wanted everyone to experience the vibrations right over their bodies, but I didn’t have time to really hold individual space for an extended period. On the other hand, the energy in the room was a bit elevated with all the souls.
We also found that the intimate Q & A we are used to having after the session didn’t really flow. People were more inclined to get up and be on their way. We invited those who wanted to ask questions to stay and many did come approach us as the others left.
We are blessed to have had this experience and look forward to collaborating with Core Power Yoga again in the future.
